The beginning.
a20n — "Ascension, or Redemption" — started as a question: what if you could play a text-based RPG where the Dungeon Master was an AI, but it never got the rules wrong?
Most AI-powered games let the AI do everything, including the math. We took the opposite approach: build a rigorous rules engine that handles every number, every dice roll, every condition — then let the AI focus on what it's actually good at: storytelling.
The vision: a persistent multiplayer world where thousands of players coexist, where reputation matters, where the economy is player-driven, and where every adventure is narrated by an AI that knows your history.
D&D 5e mechanics run under the hood. The AI never does math.
From here, everything gets built one system at a time — rules engine first, then combat, then AI narration, then the web client, then the shared world. No shortcuts on the foundation.
